Adult Bereavement Peer Support Group in Carleton Place

Community Home Support Lanark County offers Adult Bereavement Peer Support Group in Carleton Place

March 2018 – Press Release

Community Home Support Lanark County (CHSLC) is offering a closed Peer Bereavement Support Group in Carleton Place. This group is open to adults who have experienced the death of someone significant in their lives. It offers a safe, confidential environment in which people can share their feelings and experiences with others who are also going through a major loss. It provides the kind of emotional and social support that allows people to move through their grief and begin to heal.

The group is supported by experienced volunteer facilitators who have experienced the loss of a loved one themselves. Group participants come together to honour each member’s grief journey. Everyone is there to listen, support and be present for each other. This program is guided by an agenda flexible enough to allow for rich discussion to take place.

The New Bereavement Support Group will meet weekly on Thursday mornings from 10 to 11:30 a.m., starting April 12, 2018 for seven weeks. The meeting location is Community Home Support, 5 Bates Drive, Unit 4, Carleton Place. The group is limited to eight participants. There is no cost to attend the group sessions. If you are interested in attending, please contact Rebecca Bowie at 613-267-6400 or [email protected] to register.

Community Home Support Lanark County is supported by the South East LHIN and community donations.
